building a family roadmap

This past weekend I had the opportunity to speak at Sun Valley Community Church While I don’t typically post talks that I give, this one generated some serious conversations afterwards so I figured I’d share it with you. So here’s to hoping that God uses this talk and the resource below to place your family on the right trajectory!

Want to take this talk and put it into action? Here’s a great tool that I highly recommend to help you build your own plan for where God wants to take your family. Get your copy here!

Many parents want to lead their children on a spiritual journey, but they just don’t know how. “The Family Road Map” answers the question, “But how?” This workbook is designed to be a step-by-step guide for parents in planning the purpose and direction of their family. “The Family Road Map” will guide parents through creating a family purpose statement, establishing family values, identifying key mile-markers for their children, and thoroughly evaluating the yearly personal growth of each of their children. “The Family Road Map” will serve as a guide for parents in raising their children to become all that God wants them to be.

starting right

Starting right isn’t everything. But the way you start dramatically influences the trajectory of the rest of your life. This is also true in ministry. That’s why Craig Jutila and Joe McGinnis have teamed up to do a new project together. Craig and Joe are two Children’s and Family Ministry veterans, who between the two of them have over 40 years of ministry experience. Craig served as the Children’s Pastor at Saddleback Community Church located in Southern California and now runs an organization called Empowering Kids  Joe currently serves as the Children’s Pastor at Northview Church located just outside of Indianapolis  and is the author of “The Family Roadmap – A Step by Step Guide for planning the Purpose and Direction of your Family”  I recently had the opportunity to catch up with Joe and talk about the new project.

a family roadmap resource

As a follow up to yesterday’s post about building a family road map, I want to share with you a great resource that you are probably going to want to get your hands on. Joe and Aime McGinnis, the authors of “The Family Road Map,” have been dear friends for the past 9 years. We’ve seen these guys up close and personal on multiple family vacations, late nights playing cards and Settlers of Catan, serving together for 5 years at a mega-church in the Midwest, and co-teaching parenting courses. I can tell you first hand that they are the real deal. The tools you’ll find in “The Family Road Map” are born out of real life stuff and will help you build a plan to help you get where God wants your children to be.
