Winning at ministry & losing at home?

Ministry is tough. Being married and in ministry can be daunting. That’s why I’m involved in Encourage. Encourage is a one day training event designed for ministry leaders and their spouses. The day will highlight the vital importance of the spiritual, physical and emotional health of the ministry leader. Unlike other ministry training events and conferences this day isn’t built to give you new ministry tools, inspire you to grow the church you’re leading, or broaden your vision of what God could do through you to make a greater ministry impact in the world. This day is built to help you win at home…sadly a place that many ministry leaders are losing. Don’t miss learning with your spouse from ministry leaders who know what it takes to win at home. Investing in your marriage may be the best step you ever take towards changing not only our marriage, but also the world.

less clutter less noise

If you work in a local church, then chances are you spend the majority of your time trying to effectively communicate the most life-changing message that the world has ever known. But have you ever stopped and wondered why people aren’t getting that message?

In church-world we most often excuse such things away by complaining about how we don’t have the financial resources that the big church down the street does. As a result there’s no way we can keep pace with their level of excellence, their billboards, mailers, websites, brochures, videos, promotional campaigns, and gobs of print media that they seemingly pump out every week.

I don’t think I’ve ever met a church staff member who would turn their nose up at the idea of having more resources to do their job. But, what if I told you that money won’t solve your communication problems? What I told you that there are real practical solutions and proven strategies that you can learn and implement that will cut through the clutter and crystallize your message?

“Building a Culture” What every Staff member wants from their senior leader Part – 2

While building the culture of the Church ultimately begins in the heart of God infused into the Senior Leader, it is quickly transferred into the Staff, and ultimately replicated into the Local Body that you find yourself leading. The culture that you end up building, whether intentional or not it is never neutral. It either supports what you want to do or it interferes with and undermines it. You can do your best to attempt to ignore culture, but you cannot choose not to have one. It is a powerful force, which when properly harnessed, can help you to become the kind of Church God has dreamed about in eternity past. The culture of your church becomes reinforced and further ingrained into the DNA of the Staff and the people each and every day you stay at your church and is expressed through:

What Jesus had to say to Church Leaders and why it should Freak us out…Part-1

It’s easy to read the gospels and cheer on Jesus when we view the Pharisees as the bad guys in the story. But what if we re-read the gospels, and inserted our name or title in place of the Pharisees, Sadducees, and religious leaders of the day? How would that change how we interact with and follow Jesus? How would we feel if it were us He was directing His comments towards? What if it were us He was dicing up and leaving lay bare?

Getting to the desired destination and becoming the kind of person you want to be, or perhaps better said the kind of person God has dreamed up for you to become, has a lot to do with learning to ask the right questions. Jesus directed the statements below to the religious leaders of the day, and I’m pretty sure that breathing in His words and the questions below could help keep you and me on the right trajectory.
